Cannes, the capital city of festivals

About a century and a half back, Cannes was nothing more than a simple village of fishermen. But now it has become a station of international fame. Cannes is a pleasant French Riviera City which is also a capital city of festivals. It is the host of the world’s famous annual film festival.

Cannes is a beautiful city to visit. You can start your Cannes tour by going to Suquet and visiting the castle, where you can find a superb view of the city, the Gulf-Juan and the Lérins Islands and also the Bay of Napoule. Then you can stroll along the waterfront, sipping cocktails on the beach or go for shopping in this city's fashionable boutiques.

One of the most famous walkway in the world is the Croisette. Here you can see the beautiful flowering gardens, lawns with palm trees, umbrella pines and other trees all through the way to Port Canto, Palm Beach and a sea water health spa.

Cannes is known to be the capital city of festivals. It is particularly well-known for the famous Festival of Cannes for cinematographic Films. The Palais des Festivals has driven Cannes to become the second most popular convention town in entire France. The International Film Festival, the MIDEM, concerts of classical music, dance and theater are held here. Here there are four casinos as well.
